Throwback Thursday!
In 1949, the Island's Government, the States of Deliberation made Melrose House, a Georgian house with its own grounds, available for the Infant and Junior classes in order to create more space at The Ladies' College for senior pupils who were based in buildings in the Grange. Hence the Junior School was created to take in girls and boys who were accepted up to eight years of age (as long as they were registered with Elizabeth College).
