This week we are welcoming our new Principal, Ms Daniele Harford-Fox and so we have in our mind some of the wonderful women who have led the College over the past 149 years. Do you recognise some of the teachers in this photo from the 1990s with Miss Honey? Or the students with her in the photo taken in St James?
As we continue to explore our archives as we approach the 150th anniversary year, we realise we are lacking in portraits of our founding principal, Miss Susan Eaton, and her sister and successor, Miss Laura Eaton. If any members of our community with an interest in archives are able to assist in our quest to find any pictures of them, we’d love to hear from you. Laura was in Portland, USA in 1911 and still there we think as late as 1922, teaching well into her 70s partly to support Susan (and the third sister, Isabella) who were living in penury and ill-health in London.
